Is an Electric Vehicle right for me?
EVs come with many benefits for residential customers. Reduced carbon emissions, no fuel cost, reduced maintenance, and the convenience of charging your EV right at home are just a few. PNM offers rebates for residential customers who purchase and install an EV charger at their home. How will I charge?
Once your Level 2 charger is installed, charging your EV is as easy as plugging it in. These chargers require a dedicated 240-volt circuit. As an added benefit for residential customers with at home EV chargers, PNM offers a Whole-Home EV rate. Enrolled rate 1A residential customers will receive a super low electricity rate for their entire home between 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. During this period, electricity will cost approximately 3¢ per kWh.
What rebates are available?
Electrifying your ride has never been easier. Get up to $500 toward the purchase of a qualified EV charger, and get your new EV charger installed with up to $1,500 in installation assistance.
PNM customers can receive a $250 instant rebate when purchasing an electric bicycle from a participating e-bike dealer. Qualifications and restrictions apply.
The Easy Install method can connect you with a qualified electrician who can help you chose the right EV charger, install it for you, and provide you with an instant rebate for the EV charger purchase and installation. Additional rebates are available for income-qualified customers.
Income-Qualified Rebates
Electrifying your ride has never been easier. Income-qualified residential customers can receive up to $750 on the purchase of an EV charger. To help get your new EV charger installed, PNM also offers rebates up to $3,500. The Easy Install method can connect you with a qualified electrician who can help you chose the right EV charger, install it for you, and provide you with an instant rebate for the EV charger purchase and installation. Additional rebates are available for income-qualified customers. Income-qualified customers can also receive an instant rebate when purchasing an electric vehicle from a participating New Mexico dealer. Get up to $4,000 off when purchasing or leasing a new or used electric vehicle, and up to $1,000 off when purchasing an electric bicycle. Qualifications and restrictions apply.

Program Authorized Contractors are licensed electricians, trained on the details of the Transportation Electrification Program. Their knowledge of the program makes installing your charger easy by completing the application, providing you with a rebate, and taking the guesswork out of installing a charger. Our Program Authorized Contractors can help you through the Easy Install method so you can get a rebate for installing an EV charger at your home. Alternatively, you may use any contractor of your choice or choose to self-install the charging equipment and apply for rebates through the Online Application.

You’ll receive a rebate as a point-of-sale discount for the charging unit and a trained professional will handle installation, reducing your upfront cost and streamlining the process. Additional rebates are also available for income-qualified residents.
Income-Qualified Rebates
PNM residential customers who meet income eligibility requirements qualify for the Easy Install method, receiving a discounted EV charger purchase price and up to $2,000 in additional installation rebates through their chosen installer.
